Acumen CNA Training

Fast-Track, Exam-Focused CNA Training

Acumen CNA Training offers an accelerated path to CNA certification with a laser focus on exam readiness. This program is designed for students who need to prepare quickly for the Florida Nurse Aide Exam without committing to a full 120-hour state-approved program. Rather than a traditional school model, Acumen functions as an intensive exam prep service that condenses practical skills training and essential knowledge into a compact schedule. In just four days—each session lasting four hours—students are guided through all the critical skills and knowledge needed to pass the CNA state exam with confidence.

Class Schedule and Format

Acumen’s CNA prep program runs Monday through Thursday, with each session lasting four hours per day. If a holiday shortens the week, the program may be condensed to just three days. The total training time is approximately 16 hours. All instruction is held in person at the Jacksonville campus and is entirely hands-on—ideal for kinesthetic learners who prefer to learn by doing rather than through lectures or lengthy textbooks.

Small class sizes ranging from two to ten students ensure individualized attention from instructors. This is a major benefit for students who may have struggled in larger classrooms or who want targeted support on the skills most likely to appear on the exam.

What the Program Includes

Enrollment in the $250 prep course includes:

  • One-on-one instruction in small class groups
  • A CNA training manual
  • Access to an online quiz portal featuring over 300 practice questions
  • Use of Acumen’s facility, which is an approved Florida CNA testing center

Students must wear scrubs, socks, and sneakers to class. This dress code encourages a professional mindset and prepares students for what is expected in healthcare environments.

Admissions Requirements and Eligibility

To enroll in the program, students must be at least 18 years old (or 17 with parental consent). No high school diploma or GED is required to register or take the Florida CNA exam, although students must pass a background check before being allowed to test. Fingerprinting and photo capture are required and processed through an authorized third-party agency.

A $100 deposit is required to reserve a seat in the program, and the remaining $150 is due by the first day of class. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, so students should carefully confirm their schedules before registering.

State Exam and Certification Details

While the course fee covers the cost of instruction and materials, it does not include the cost of the Florida CNA exam or fingerprinting. Testing fees are separate and must be paid directly through Prometric. Students can, however, pay for the exam at Acumen, which is also an official CNA testing site. Exam costs include:

  • Clinical Skills Only: $120
  • Written Exam Only: $35
  • Combined Exam (Skills + Written): $155

After testing fees are paid and background screening is completed, it typically takes two to six weeks to receive an exam date.

Instructor Experience and Learning Environment

Instructors at Acumen are experienced in Florida’s CNA testing process and focus specifically on helping students pass the exam. Rather than taking a broad academic approach, instructors teach students the exact skills and protocols expected during the state test. Their goal is to boost student confidence and familiarity with both written and clinical portions of the exam.

Acumen emphasizes hands-on repetition and personalized feedback—key components that contribute to the program’s impressive 98% pass rate. For students who have already attempted the exam and failed, Acumen provides a second chance to gain the confidence and technique needed to succeed.

What Students Can Expect After Graduation

This program is ideal for students who plan to challenge the Florida CNA exam without going through a traditional 120-hour course. Graduates will be prepared to take the state exam and, upon passing, will be eligible to work in a variety of healthcare settings including nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies, and assisted living facilities.

While this course is not affiliated with job placement services, students benefit from Acumen’s status as a Florida-approved testing center. By training and testing at the same location, students reduce the stress of unfamiliar testing environments.

Accreditation and Licensing Notes

It’s important to note that Acumen is not a state-approved school offering a full CNA program. Instead, it is a test prep training center that specializes in preparing students who are eligible to challenge the Florida CNA exam. Students who have failed the state exam three times must attend a state-approved 120-hour program and would not qualify for this course.
